Description

Fun with Character Education

This cultural arts program uses music, humor and stories to engage young students in the social emotional learning (SEL) topics of sharing, non-bullying, respect, responsibility, and self-esteem. This show reinforces your organization's desire to promote a peaceful and cooperative environment.

Primary teachers have praised Golden Rule as the best program they've ever seen for this age group.

Pair it with our exciting program Do The Right Thing for older children and everyone learns about cooperation through the power of song.

Program outline

  1. The program begins with "Pathway To Peace", a call and response song written by Beth & Scott and former third grade students.
  2. Children learn about following directions and good listening with "Put Your Hands Up in the Air" (Hap Palmer) and one of our best known silly songs, , "Hello, My Name is Joe".
  3. Responsibility is covered with "Laundry Mountain", a Beth and Scott song that features lots of dancing and completing goals step by step.
  4. Beth & Scott use their song, "Good Manners" to demonstrate using kind words, sharing, saying please and thank you, and apologizing for mistakes.
  5. The theatrical song, "I Don't Want to Go to Bed (Right Now)," introduces how adults and children both have to follow the Golden Rule and how following rules is an important part of respect.
  6. Children learn about anti-bullying through "Bunny and Red Bird", a song by our good friend, Barb Tilsen, that teaches 'talking things out'.
  7. It's time to celebrate everything we've learned with a joyous get-up and dance song, building joy and connection.
  8. To conclude, we sing a song called "Paz Para El Mundo" which brings us full circle to creating more peace in the world with our choices.
  9. Q and A
